SEJARAH PERKEMBANGAN INTERNET

Internet merupakan jaringan komputer yang di bentuk oleh Departemen Pertahanan Amerika Serikat tahun 1969, melalui proyek yang disebut ARPANET (Advanced Research Project Agency Network). Tujuan awalnya adalah untuk keperluan militer. Tidak lama kemudian proyek ini berkembang pesat di seluruh daerah, dan semua universitas di negara tersebut ingin bergabung. Berdasarkan data statistik, pertumbuhan Internet di dunia sangatlah cepat. Pada akhir tahun 1994, sudah 3 juta komputer yang terkoneksi di internet. Pada tahun 1995, lebih dari 30 juta orang menggunakan fasilitas internet. Kemudian pertumbuhan populasi pengguna internet naik 10% tiap bulan. Pada tahun 1998 populasi pengguna naik menjadi 90 juta orang. Diperkirakan tahun 2020 dan seterusnya semua orang akan terhubung dengan Internet. Perkrmbangan Internet di Indonesia juga mengalami peningkatan. Pusat Industri dan Lembaga Pengembangan Kewirausahaan Bina Mitra Sejahtera, melaporkan bahwa tahun 1995 ada sekitar 10 ribu pengguna internet, pada tahun 1997 angka itu menjadi 100 ribu. Kemudian menurut Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jasa Interenet Indonesia (APJII), pengguna Internet di Indonesia pada akhir tahun 2000 sebesar 1,9 juta, dan pada akhir tahun 2011 lebih dari 10 juta pengguna internet.

a golden star

once there were two bright stars. one was big , one was small.
one day , a planet came to the big star and asked, "Big star , it's very cold out here , can i sit by your side ?"
the big star answered, "No , i don't want to share my energy with you!"
but the small star beckoned the planet to come to him. he said to the planet, "You can sit by me , i'm not that big , but i can warm both of us"
so the planet and the smaller star became friends.
then came another planet, "Big star , can i sit by your warm light ?"
"Go away , i don't like to be disturbed" answered the big star.
"Come little planet , you can join with us" said the smaller star. the smaller star let the planet sit by him.
then came seven more planets. one by one , they asked the big star's permission to sit near him.
but again and again , the big star said no and all the planets went to the small star.
now the small golden star had nine friends. he shared his warmth with his friends. he was never lonely.
the big star lived alone. his light became dimmer and dimmer and he grew old in loneliness.
the small golden star is our golden sun. he shines on all of us on the earth.
and i know he will still by smiling brightly tomorrow.
